Quenching is the change in a steel’s cristallographic structure thanks to a rapid cooling to improve or obtain certain materials properties. This cooling rate depends on the geometry of the workpieces and the steel nuance different. It can be achieved using mineral base oils or polymers diluted into water, either by dipping or by spray in the case of induction hardening.
TotalEnergies quenching oils match all thermal treatment requirements and all types of installation. Formulated from base oils selected for their exceptional resistance to oxidation, they offer a cost-effective means of enhancing the mechanical properties of components.
DRASTA C series are suitable for cold quenching and can be used for a wide range of geometrical workpieces and a all kind of steels from low to high Martensite start (MS).
DRASTA H series are suitable for martempering and are mainly dedicated to gear quenching with a high resistance to oxydation.
DRASTA SY series are polymer quenchants. Diluted into water they prevent fire risk. Their cooling rate can be adjusted with their concentration.
TotalEnergies Lubricants offers a wide range of services for industry professionals. From in use oil analysis to our TIG6 maintenance software (CMMS), our range of services is specifically designed to help you approach the management of your operations with confidence, allowing you to focus on what matters most: your production.
